ITT
Investigative Tactical Training

Colorado PI

The facts are facts! Colorado has enacted a licensing law for Private Investigators. As of May 31, 2015, anyone advertising themselves as a "Private Investigator" or conducting investigative activities in the state are required to have a license. There are two classifications of licensure, Class 1 and Class 2.

Class 1 PI License

This license is needed to work as an investigator for another Class 2 licensed Private Investigator. Unlike other states that offer agency licensing, Colorado has the Class 1 license which is basically an intern license. By obtaining the Class 1 license, that person is able to work as an investigator, accumulating knowledge and documented working hours towards their Class 2 license. Only with this license is an individual able to work for another Class 2 licensed PI. According to state regulation, an individual needs a minimum of 4000 hrs. of actual in-field work or a combination of 2000 hrs. and a degree from an accredited college.

Mark Matthews, owner of ITT, is offering a "Surveillance Ops" in the field training program to assist those individuals interested in pursuing a career as a Private Investigator.
